Today, I phoned the person that I interviewed with over at Employer name deleted for reasons of actually hoping to get the job later on. And basically, she said that while I was qualified for the job, her only concern was that I was nervous at the Interview. And if I was nervous in a private meeting with her, how would I possibly conduct myself in an airplane with about 30 passengers? I figured this would be the reason that I would be denied the job. But she told me that she was going to be interviewing again in a couple months, so I have a chance to work on this problem and then present myself once again, ready and able to take on the job!
So, basically, I just need to learn how to calm down, so I can have any hope at all of getting this job next time. I am going to try going into Tai Chi again (yeah, I dropped out after the class after Pridefest, because I missed one class and I was not able to keep up). But Tai Chi seems wonderfully relaxing and I think that it would sincerely help me to calm down prior to the next interview. And it does mean that I will need to get another gate pass with the mark of the beast (SSSS) on it. But, hey, I really want this job and I am going to work on myself so that I can be assured to get it.
Other than that, I am going to research other, legal, ways to relax myself prior to the Interview. Because while I would so love to do so, I cannot smoke pot prior to the Interview. It would be quite counter productive, wouldn’t you think?
