Breaking Up is Hard

Especially when you are the one who is being broken up with. My boyfriend broke up with me a fortnight ago and I think I am finally starting to sort it out. When he broke up with me on Friday, I wept all the way home. And I think that I may very well still be under it when I really said that I was over it. I mean, I went to talk to him on the Sunday after to tell him that I was over it and I kinda cringed when I heard that he made out with another guy (from him, I don’t like rumours and don’t accept them as fact). And the next time we were both at the Alley, I saw him with another guy and it was tearing me up inside. Not to mention the fact that (on that day) I had a job interview and was running on only 2 hours of sleep.

This relationship was a learning experience. At first, I thought I would only be attracted to other women prior to my transition. And now, I know for a fact that I don’t care about what’s in people’s pants. What I care about is who they are. And that makes me a pansexual. Had I not gone out with him, I would still think that I was only attracted to other women. But then again, there are very few men (if any at all) that aren’t complete pricks. So, you couldn’t get me to bet against the assumption that my next fling will be with another young woman. However, I need to be able to see flings as flings, see relationships as relationships and to know the difference between the two.

I am not angry with him. He had his own reasons as to wanting to break up with me. At least he didn’t beat around the bush and dangle me around for a few months to make the pain greater. He told me the truth and he broke it off quickly and that is why I am still willing to be his friend. He cannot get over the fact that he is only interested in men.
