Someetimes, You Have to Wonder if Christians Are on Some Sort of Drugs
Every time I talk to a Christian about their religion and why I am opposed to it (a few of the many reasons, trust me), they seem to believe that someone could possibly reject the love of “gentle Jesus” who plans to burn all those in hell who don’t believe in him. I tell them that it is because of the fact that I cannot see that a “loving god” could possibly allow people to be tortured in hell for all eternity. They then proceed to tell me that this loving god is also just. I tell them about how Jesus is willing to forgive the ’sins’ of believers, even murder and rape, but unwilling to forgive the unbelievers for the ’sin’ of non-belief. And how people like Ted Bundy can offer an honest repentance and get fast tracked to heaven but good, moral atheists will burn forever in hell just for not believing in god. Then they tell me that God is above human ways or make up some sort of bullshit that comes out to absolute nonsense. This makes me think either one of two things, either (1) Christians start taking psychotropic meds at the beginning so their minds are dulled down and cannot use reason or logic in their day to day lives, (2) Christians are bred genetically stupid from the cradle and will believe any sort of garbage you tell them or (3) that Christians are on some sort of drugs. I think it’s number 3 because of the fact that Religion is a drug.
Of course, when your blog posts are spammed with believers trying to “save the heathens”, you get into a little tizzy of your own. Hell, sometimes I wonder and worry about what this blog will be like whenever it starts to get popular and I am closing comments on posts because they turn out to be wars between the unwashed Christians and the atheists. Here is what the author of Pharyngula (the blog that had the post previously mentioned) that was previous mentioned had to say about the constant comments from the Jesus Freaks:
Religion has killed (or threatened to kill) some of the brightest stars and minds in history, just because they are skeptics of their particular brand of faith. It’s not just Christians but Muslims are still out for blood when you even mention the name Salman Rushdie, the author of the book “The Satanic Verses” which is quite critical of Islam. In fact, the Ayatollah put a fatwa out on Rushdie after the book was released and offered a $1 million dollar reward for anyone who can kill him and bring the head of Rushdie to the Ayatollah. And of course, there is the rivers of blood that spilled and continue to spill from unbelievers of certain flavors of religion, from the Crusades on to the ‘religious cleansing’ that is going on today in Iraq, and if McCain is elected, will continue to Iran.
So, Christians, I hope you soon see that I am NOT interested in believing in your spiritual claptrap nonsense and stop bothering me. And stop telling me that you’ll pray for me too, that is so self-righteous.
