Dear Microsoft,
I really appreciate how you have integrated spell check features into your popular word processing programme, which has recently come under fire due to your shitty business practices, but I must ask you to stop underlining words such as colour, programme, neighbour, centre and other such correct spellings. Yes, I am very aware that you have British and Australian dictionaries included with your 2008 version of Microsoft Office for the Macintosh but if I use these dictionaries, I cannot add words that I use on a daily basis (such as cissexual, cissexist, transmisogynistic, etc) to the dictionary without reverting back to the US Dictionary, which causes a number of problems. It really should not have to be a compromise, because when I need to write something, I should not have to worry about superfluous things, like Microsoft asking me to correct words that are already correct.
So Microsoft, would you please fix your dictionary so that I can write without having to see red – literally. Now fuck off and let me get to writing my thesis you scum sucking, evil corporation.
In Sisterhood,
Jessica Sideways

A few years ago I had a computer at work that every time you rebooted, it would switch to the French dictionary! Talk about an irritant…
