Yesterday, when I was at Whole Foods Market, it came. A monster of a migrane headache came on full throttle and attacked me from my sinus all the way up to my right eyebrow. It hurt like hell and it continued on, even until I got home from Whole Foods (which is like 30-45 minutes of public transit). It continued on all through the night and when I woke up, I finally thought I was free of the blasted thing. But the minute I got out of bed, it arose again. That pounding headache. That painful manifestation of my withdrawal from Caffeine. And I would not know that this was the reason until I finally decided to give in and see if this was the reason. I bought myself a one litre bottle of Dr. Pepper and started drinking it. And I noticed from that moment on, my headache started to go away. I have a caffeine addiction and I was experiencing the painful symptoms of Caffeine withdrawal.
There are many valid reasons why I don’t want to drink caffeine anymore. The first of which being the fact that it is really counterproductive to take hormones and to do something, anything, which will adversely affect your health. Caffeine is one of those things. I want to get away from caffeine because after eighteen months on hormones, I plan to start using alternative methods to enhance my natural breast development. But also because I am using this transition to try to improve my life on all fronts. Eat organic food, stop doing unhealthy things, spend less time in front of a computer and hang out with people, exercise (I plan to start Bikram yoga fairly soon here) and just work on self improvement. But these Caffeine withdrawals have got to stop and I plan to try to stop them, hopefully soon.
I plan to research this because I will not allow addiction to continue to bind me!!!
Sorry to hear about the headaches. But if you want to stick with the caffeine I suggest Coffee. It has apparently been declared a health food!
The good news about coffee
