I Can Has Canadian Citizenship Nao?

Egocentric

One thing I have wanted over the last 4 years is to become a Canadian citizen and this has not changed one bit. In fact, I am working quite hard to find some sort of way to immigrate to Canada the soonest moment possible and this includes working hard at getting a professional degree and experience that will allow me to impress Canadian immigration officials enough to grant me immigration documents. But the problem is that the immigration laws and avenues in Canada are changing to require a bit of Canadian experience before you are allowed to immigrate. However, I am not going to let that stop me from coming home to Canada – it is just a minor setback that I will have to deal with as I will. I am certain that I can find work in someone’s practice and then go on to form my own practice once the conditions for my own immigration and employment have been satisfied, which would take a few more years (after all, I want to make sure I have enough money to be able to afford to set up shop, no?). Having said that though, it is really sad that you have made it much more difficult for me to immigrate to Canada, Minister Kenney. But I shall immigrate to Canada and come back home!

The main reason why I want to immigrate to Canada is simply to get away from the Christian morons that run our government into the ground and turn our country into a living hell. I swear, I cannot understand why the people in this country have a seriously unhealthy fear of socialism, which is something that would definitely improve the lives of many people in this country. These are the people who are willfully retarded enough to vote for George W. Bush as president, twice – you have to wonder what the fuck is wrong with this place to compel people to do that to themselves! It’s as retarded as turning on the stove, placing your hand on the grill and refusing to remove it until a doctor comes, heals you and you blame him for the pain. That’s pretty much what is going on right now in America, there is a contingent of people who see the damage this last president has done to our nation and blaming Barack Obama for it. Granted, Barack is a very useless man for failing to live up to a number of his campaign promises regarding equality, but it could be worse – we could have Grandpa Maverick and the Rogue Lunatic.

I still have Naturopathic Medical School in order to get through in order to come to Canada and become a citizen but understand that I will work hard at becoming a Canadian. But it would be worth it to escape this hell hole…

For your sake, I really hope you aren’t paying a lot to get your degree in such nonsense. There is nearly zero demand for “doctors” of alternative medicine and a degree in naturopathic medicine certainly won’t help you get a Canadian work visa.

If you want to help people and be attractive to an employer in Canada go to nursing school or medical school.

    • Naturopathic Medicine is not nonsense and it is a real doctorate, issued by schools that are approved by the Department of Education as medical schools, recognized by different regional accreditation boards across the United States and Naturopathic Medical schools are located in Canada as well.

Like I said, I intend to go to a medical school – a Naturopathic Medical School. Why do you think that a Naturopathic Doctorate won’t help me get a Canadian work visa?

There are a lot of for-profit schools that are accredited and give less-than-adequate training (i.e. Kaplan, University of Phoenix, etc). There have been may pushes to remove the accreditation ability of the governing board for naturopathic practitioners both in the US and in Canada.

Naturopathic providers are also not covered by OHIP in Ontario or by Medicare in the US, or by the vast majority of private plans.

I certainly wouldn’t want to rack up hundreds of thousands of dollars getting a non-competitive degree from a graduate institution that’s not linked to a major hospital or research university but obviously ymmv

        • Yes, but the training that Naturopathic Medical Schools give you is more than adequate, has a serious scientific and clinical basis. Naturopathic medicine has been recognized by the National Institutes for Health as a valid heath care modality.

They aren’t covered by OHIP but that doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be. In fact, I think that it’s allopathic health care that shouldn’t be covered by private plans as it only treats the symptoms, not the disease.

            allopathic…

            hahahaha you nutty homeopath

have fun with your six-figure non-dischargeable student loans and ultralow-middle class income I guess

  2. Gwen, calling me a homeopath is a lie simply because I do not believe in homeopathy (as it is a pseudoscience). I’m pissed off that all of the Naturopathic medical schools (Bastyr, NCNM, SCNM, NUHS, U. of Bridgeport, CCNM and the Boucher Institute) teach it and that it’s tested on in the NPLEX.
