There are several reasons why I am so glad that I moved to Colorado, the first of which being the fact that it actually snows here in Colorado. That, and the ever-present view of the Rockies – as well as the opportunity to view absolutely magnificent landscapes just by coming home from Boulder (the GS bus happens to be “the scenic route” for me). I absolutely love white winter solstices and I love how cute and cuddly other women look in sweaters and winter clothing. And seeing as this is the first winter that I will have spent full-time as Jessica, this makes it even more magical and special. So, yes, you’d be hard pressed to find me saying an ill word against Colorado during winter. Even though I am now a canvasser for a Rape Crisis Centre here in Denver and I have to walk in the stuff.
Today is the first time since April that I have seen snow live and in person here in the Denver Metro Area, and it’s absolutely fabulous! I have the strong urge to go out and play in it, make snow angels and enjoy my second puberty, and the correct one at that. But more importantly, it’s a strong sign of the season that it is becoming – winter. I love everything about Winter, including the bastardized version of the Winter Solistice, American Thanksgiving, cute girls looking even cuter in winter gear, the entire city caked in snow and all sorts of beautiful things come in mind. The idea of staying indoors sitting right next to my lover next to a fireplace permeates my inner-most desires and that also exclaims to me that (1) I need a house with a fireplace and picture windows (kinda like the ones at DIA) and (2) I need a new lover.
