Praise be to Unitar!

So, just what the hell have I been smoking and who the fuck is Unitar, you might be asking? You are going to be amazed, but first I must ask you are you ready to hear about this amazing truth? Are you sure? Well, my friend - Unitar is the god that the Unitarian Universalists worship. Don’t believe me? Then take a look at the UUA’s website? Still don’t believe me? Do a Google search for Unitar. I am certain that there are millions of sites that talk about the love and good will of Unitar.

Unitar comes in many forms. Some people think that he/she/it is a resemblance of the Judeo-Christian god. Some people think he/she/it is the dharma and therefore, all encompassing and just. And some people have other beliefs about Unitar. And they don’t even believe Unitar has a set gender. Some believe that she is a she at some times, he is a he at some times and it is gender-less the rest of the time. Maybe this is because Unitar is above gender. And of course, Unitar would be clear, as it encompasses all races and therefore, cannot have a set skin colour, for that would infer preference towards one race. And hey, maybe Unitar is even disabled sometimes and able the rest of the time to make the disabled and the abled feel equally welcome.

Alrighty, fine. There is no such thing or being as Unitar in relation to Unitarian Universalism. Everything that I just said was my bit of snarky humour in response to a posting that I saw on Urban Dictionary. Okay? I just wanted to post a little bit of sarcastic humour that a few UUs would appreciate.

I would also like to add that the truth of the matter is that when you are trying to give an elevator speech to a fundamentalist Christian, chances are that they are not listening to a word that you are saying. And on the rare occasion that they are listening, they won’t remember a word you say. So it does not matter if you say that we believe that aliens dropped down from mars. Words such as these are wasted on a fundamentalist. So, why not try to have a little snarky humour to try to brighten your day and remind yourself why you are not a fundamentalist.
