New method of collecting stem cells has been discovered!

I recently found today that there is a new method of collecting stem cells for the purposes of scientific research. It is a little bit gross, but I dare say that it is a method that not a lot of people can complain too much about. I found out about this on CNNMoney and it seems quite intriguing. However, some people might find it a little bit weird, so I put the method of collection towards the bottom of my post so people will have to click to see it (and so I won’t get blamed, hee hee). To see this, please click the more… link.

Are you ready for this? It’s about collecting stem cells in menstrual blood. Yeah, now you see why I decided to put this outside the scope of the front page. Though it does make me kind of squeamish, this service, called C’elle claims that with scientific research, these collected cells can one day be used for cosmetic procedures and sports medicine. Something worth thinking about. And plus, if this works, maybe we can get the Religious Reich off of our backs about stem cell research. But, knowing them, we can most definitely bet that they will have something to say about this being an “unholy abomination”. *sigh* Leave it to religious people to make people think that technology that saves lives is evil or sinful.
