Yesterday, when I was at Whole Foods Market, it came. A monster of a migrane headache came on full throttle and attacked me from my sinus all the way up to my right eyebrow. It hurt like hell and it continued on, even until I got home from Whole Foods (which is like 30-45 minutes of public transit). It continued on all through the night and when I woke up, I finally thought I was free of the blasted thing. But the minute I got out of bed, it arose again. That pounding headache. That painful manifestation of my withdrawal from Caffeine. And I would not know that this was the reason until I finally decided to give in and see if this was the reason. I bought myself a one litre bottle of Dr. Pepper and started drinking it. And I noticed from that moment on, my headache started to go away. I have a caffeine addiction and I was experiencing the painful symptoms of Caffeine withdrawal. Continue reading ‘Withdrawal is a bitch!’

After talking with my old high school, it turns out that they refuse to change my name on my records and to issue a new birth certificate. Their rationale is that I do not have a court order which specifically requires the Klein Independent School District to update their records, so they feel that they don’t have to recognize the court order. What assholes! So, what needs to happen now is a court order which will specifically ORDER Klein ISD to change their records to reflect the new name change. But of course, if someone who was lucky enough to get married and have the Klein ISD change their name on their records to their married name, this could help my case dramatically! But sadly, I doubt that I would find someone who even went to a Klein ISD high school who lives here in Colorado. So, what has to happen now is I have to specifically draft a legal petition which will require the Klein Independent School District to legally change my name on their records and to issue a new diploma in the correct name. I am also going to try to have the Colorado court that I petition try to change my gender markers on their records as well. It’s such a good thing that I didn’t take any for-credit courses that were male-specific, like football or physical education! Continue reading ‘Interested in changing your name? Better get a second court order!’
Today, I have decided that it would not be a good idea at all to renew my MobileMe account. I got it last year in August and after using MobileMe for about a year, I guess I just can’t see any logical reason to continue using it for my normal e-mail purposes. I am transferring all my e-mail over to my mail account over here on MediaTemple and I am just going to let my MobileMe account expire. There are quite a few reasons as to why I don’t want to use MobileMe anymore, and many of them stem from the fact that I no longer own a computer of any sort. I haven’t been to my UU church, First Unitarian Society of Denver in weeks. Furthermore, I have not even made an effort to try to go to any of the other UU churches in the Denver metro area (First Universalist, Jefferson Unitarian Church, Open Circle, UU Boulder, et cetra). However, I still identify as a Unitarian Universalist, with all of it’s religious liberalism and freedom to be who I am. I still tell people that even though I am an atheist, I do go to a Unitarian Universalist church and explain why it is that I even go to a house of worship at all, if there is nothing for me to worship. And I make sure to witness and advocate for our uncommon denomination by telling people the good news about our faith (uuvangelism), so why is it that I haven’t gone to church in weeks? Once again, I am among the ranks of the unemployed. Unfortunately, even though I was meeting the quotas set by Comcast and I was doing everything they told me to do, since I wasn’t do as well as the other people on the shift, I was let go. This is completely horrible, as they told me that as long as I do 200 tapes per shift, I would not have any problems. And even though I met this requirement, actually exceeding it last night, I was terminated today when I got to the building. Now, considering how much trouble it takes to get to the Comcast Media Centre, I was pissed that I had walked all that way so I could be told that I was essentially shit canned. Not only this, but I also e-mailed Dr. Pichet and told him that I was going to have a deposit ready for him by the end of the month. Now, since I am once again employed and I doubt I will even have the 10% deposit that he needs to lock in the price, I am once again back to square one. Continue reading ‘Unemployed Once Again’
I know it seems a bit odd, a self-proclaimed atheist such as myself planning to visit places of worship around the Denver Metro area, but this would definitely be fun. The reasons for the tour would be to help teach Christians about atheism and hopefully help them to see that their religion is bogus. For the purposes of confidentiality, the churches I plan to attend are not going to be specified until after the day of attendance and no church will be attended more than once during the life of the project. Of course, this would assume that they would even have me back, considering the fact that I am an “evil hell-bound sinner”. The project is inspired by my visit to Faith Ministries and how well it went to prove that anyone with an opposing opinion is immediately thrown out. I plan to post the results of my mission every Monday following each visit. However, I will not attend the services of any church other than my own UU church on the first Monday of every month (reason being is I’d like to update everyone on how I’m doing overall and the “candles of community” portion of the service is a great way to do this). A week or so ago, I read on the front page of the American Atheists website that they were trying to raise money to help repair the roof at their New Jersey headquarters. This was announced by their interim president, Mr. Frank Zindler. Apparently, a lot of the building has been in a large state of disrepair and both the main office of American Atheists and the Charles E. Stevens American Atheist Library & Archives (C.E.S.A.A.L.A.) were also failing as well. The special climate-controlled, fire suppression-protected rooms of this building that held some of the most valuable texts and books about atheism and freethought were in the gravest danger. They need $77,000 to pay the contractors to repair the roof. So, yes, American Atheists is raising (money for) the roof, and they need your help! For the past few days, I have been wondering why my website’s hits have been set to zero. And of course, this started on the day when I updated the K2 theme on my blog. Of course, I did not realize this until I looked at my Feedburner stats today. Humm, 10 subscribers and 3 hits today? Something isn’t right… So, I continue to try to figure out what the problem was and then it hit me - I forgot to add the Mint code to my K2 header.php file when I updated the theme! So, I decided to check to see if this was the case. It was, I saw that the source code to have Mint tracking on this site was missing. So, I went into Mint, copied the code and pasted it into K2. I wonder if there is a plugin that allows the Mint code to automatically be included so I don’t have to remember each time that I update the theme…
