A Response to “Man’s Rules”, a group on Facebook

I would like to post a response to something I found on Facebook, the group description for a group called “MAN’S RULES”. You can find this group description in a blockquote (once you click “more” of course…) and my response to each point, below the blockquote, in order. This may very well be a joke, but there are some men who actually believe that they can still be chauvinistic cavemen. This absolutely disgusts me and makes me thankful that I am a lesbian. Breaking Up is Hard

Especially when you are the one who is being broken up with. My boyfriend broke up with me a fortnight ago and I think I am finally starting to sort it out. There are inequalities in adoption, a lot of internalized homophobia in a lot of people and there is no desire in the public school system to start teaching tolerance for LGBT people. A lot of people think that my priorities may have changed when I was gay bashed at Safeway the other day. But alas, they have not. While the incident at Safeway does pose a question of whether or not a city is truly LGBT-friendly, it has not changed my core passion. The issue that I fight for the most, and the one closest to my heart, is equal marriage rights. Continue reading ‘My biggest issue in the LGBT community’

The First Day Together

You know, it’s odd. I have never thought that I could possibly like a guy. But last night was enough to make me feel that this is so right and that I should pursue this with everything I’ve got. When we both woke up that morning, we both had a breakfast that mainly consisted of pizza and biscuits. And yes, it was good. And I learned something new about my boyfriend, he does not like to kiss while eating. Continue reading ‘The First Day Together’
