“I’ll get the door”, I shouted up to Meredith when I heard them knocking on the door. It was a little too late as she started to come down and told me that we had visitors of the evil kind, missionaries from the Moron church just down the street. I decided that it would be my opportunity to mess with these people’s heads and to earn this house the status of one that the Morons would not visit again, ever. I told them that I don’t see that if their god believed transsexuality and homosexuality were so bad, that so many people are gay/trans and they can live happy lives as who they are, as long as they don’t try to deny it and make themselves neurotic. I also talked on an instance when one of the Moron prophets tried to talk someone out of transition and they were completely unaffected by it. They continued to try to conflate homosexuality with lying and stealing, which I tried to correct them on - as homosexuality does not hurt anyone. Appearantly, I need to re-read Betty Berzon’s Setting them Straight so I can get better at confronting these assholes with the latent homophobia. But I have a fortnight to do it in. ^_^ Continue reading ‘Visitors from the LDS Church!’

Yesterday, when I was looking up information on the new laws and the court decisions about our new equal marriage rights in Connecticut, I stumbled upon information about an anti-gay, anti-trans group called MassResistance. And much like any other hate-based group, they are completely and totally antagonistic to the idea that two people could genuinely love one another regardless of gender or sex. That physical sex does not determine gender also irks them and all the women that go through the gauntlet of transition are considered perverts by these people, regardless of how good of people these are and the fact that they are not the one focusing on other people’s genitals (I swear, sometimes I wonder where people get the idea that they can ask me probing, intimate questions about my genitals). And these people decided to get together after the Massachusetts court decision that legalized equal marriage. Despite the fact that they are quickly losing the battle against equal marriage, these people persist to try to disseminate lies about the gay and transsexual communities. Now, I do not know why the hell I am telling Christian musicians how to do their job or how to try to con people into believing in the holy spirit when the fact of the matter is that I believe that belief in the holy spirit is the one thing that has been fucking this country up for all these years. However, I am also a personal development coach so I have decided to write a little quick guide for Christian Rock musicians who would like to know how to get the crazier of the Christian evangelicals off their backs and go back to the business of selling records. Of course, keep in mind that the truly crazy will not stop writing their spiels about how Christian rock is really the tool of the devil and everyone is going to go to hell if they hear a note of Micheal W. Smith’s music or some garbage like that. The truly crazy (a/k/a Jack Chick crazy) will continue to display their complete want for intelligence and are the same people that protest against homosexuality or abortion on the streets here in Denver. There is no talking with them, their pastors out in the middle of Pissbucket, Colorado or whatever have already brainwashed them to the point where they can just say a few words and these people will believe it to be true. Of course, you can never say THAT to anyone in public (and you might want to restrict who you say it to in private as well, cause you really don’t need it to appear in the Enquirer and the Watchtower the next day). With that in mind, let’s get on our way, shall we? Continue reading ‘Tips for Marketing Christian Musicians’
I was talking with some people in my building and one of the people passing by said “Praise God” and I shouted back, as I normally do, “And Praise the Flying Spaghetti Monster!” She responded saying “You atheists and your flying spaghetti monsters!” I got a little irked and responded “Well, the Flying Spaghetti Monster is not real. It was a concoction to help show how teaching creationism in the classroom is foolish.” She responded back “Well, they teach atheism in the classroom!” This kind of puzzled me because I know of NO classroom in the United States or Canada that teaches atheism. We then went on to debate and she finally made the statement that “atheism is equivalent to racism”. That kinda took me aback and it made me think, how is atheism racist and why is it that some people choose to say things like that? Continue reading ‘“Atheism is racism” - WTF?’
Nick Gisburne has really done it this time. He’s writing another book, and in my opinion, it’s about damn time! Blasphemy! The Musical, is a songbook with over 100 songs about religion and knowing Nick Gisburne, they are sure to rouse and offend the sensitive moronic little Christians in your neighbourhood. Therefore, it is highly advised that you purchase this book so that you can work on the common ministry to irritate and offend Christians (well, at least that’s MY ministry). And the best thing about this book is that, unlike the book the Atheists are Revolting, this book will contain all sorts of songs to memorize and use whenever necessary. Like on the bus, in the line at the supermarket, in church (lol) pretty much anywhere. Also, if you can trick an entire congregation into singing one of his songs as a hymn, you will go down in ex-Christian comedy history, much like the crazy Christian woman who mentioned something about a Holy Ghost enema. If a girl needed anything to boost her self-esteem, it’s actually having been asked out on a date. I met her on an online dating website and she was the one that made first contact. I know that I am generally jaded about online dating websites but to be honest, I was just using this website for the tests (in fact, that’s how I found out about it - and I’m not alone in that fact). But when I changed my profile up a bit, a couple of people contact me - people who actually made first contact. And while at first, I thought that it would actually be just a few people making friendly chit chat (because to be honest, I wasn’t really expecting to actually attract anyone yet) someone actually showed some interest! I guess what they say is true, your profile can do a great deal of help or damage to you. Of course, that might still be complete and total BS but I am willing to chalk it up to that. At first, when I heard of Log Cabin Republicans, I thought that it was just a practical joke, much like Landover Baptist Church. But, no, they are seriously real. And sadly enough, even though we are all being attacked through the Republican party, these people still support the Republican party rather than trying to change the party from the inside out. These people are gay, they are Republican, and they are fighting a battle on a side that will ultimately leave them hanging. No one is more bigoted or hateful than a Republican candidate and McCain supports a constitutional amendment banning our equal right to the institution of marriage. Clearly, this is a threat to our relationships and to the legal and social recognition to them. And yet these people continue to support the republican party. Please, please, enlighten me - where is the logic in doing this? What logical reason could you possibly have to side with a political party that is so full of neo-conservatives, you would be lynched if they could legalize it on the senate floor? Please, tell me why you would want to vote for these people, much less support them? Continue reading ‘Gay Republicans? Curious, very curious.’
I think it’s high time for some reflection on what it truly means to me, to be trans. Well, even though I have had a lot of ups and downs, a lot of highs and lows and I have won a lot of battles in my struggle to be me, I must admit that there are some problems in my life which are horribly difficult to contend with. I am now on my 10th month on hormones and my 5th month being full-time. With the exception of my voice, I have been told that I pass pretty well and I am certain that the more that I work on, the better things are going to get. So, let’s get this status report under way, eh? Continue reading ‘10 Months on Hormones, 5 Months Full-Time’
Well, I think that my protests had an effect which is now quite bittersweet. My blog experienced quite a bit of traffic during the DNC but it’s starting to level off with the news posts starting to fall into the archives. I hear all sorts of things about myself, one of which is that like the Democratic Party, I am having an identity crisis. And you know what? Sometimes, they are absolutely right. I am having an identity crisis, but not of the kind people think. I have an identity crisis of being a transwoman in a largely male-oriented world. I am giving up the white male privilege that society affords people who don’t necessarily fall into a minority for a queer label and a community. I don’t really think of it as a privilege but considering that since I’ve transitioned, it’s been harder and harder to get a job with a fairly decent rate of pay, I can’t deny the fact that white straight male people have it much, much easier than females, someone in the LGBT community, someone in the communities of colour and other communities. But let’s talk about the identity crisis I am facing, eh? Continue reading ‘An Identity Crisis, eh?’
