Ex-Gay Quackery and Why You Should Care

There is a threat in this world that threatens the very people that support it. Ex-gay camps, or as they really are, gay concentration camps, make money off of the gullible people that are willing to send their kids on one of these retreats. These people scoop the personality and critical thinking skills (or what is left of them) out of a person’s head and collect your money. This is not a tin foil hat conspiracy theory, it is actually happening right here and right now! Sometimes, people are able to break free from the programming that goes on at these camps (thus creating ex-ex-gays, who speak out against the institution). However, given this very real threat, we should all be aware of it and do everything we can to stop it. Continue reading ‘Ex-Gay Quackery and Why You Should Care’

My pilgrimage to Indiana and the blog

On Tuesday, I will be making the trip to Indiana to finalize the legal name change. I have a few sets of clothes packed and enough food to get me there and maybe to help me survive the trip back. I have enough reading material to interest me for the trip there, and when I get back, I will bring back the rest of my reading materials in my second suitcase (hope Areya can spare $5 for the extra suitcase fee that Greyhound levies, I am broke after Wells Fargo levied one false overdraft fee too many). Other than that, I am totally ready and excited to attend the name change hearing before the judge in the middle-of-fucking-nowhere, Indiana. And I am totally excited to head the hell back here to Colorado and obtain my fully female ID card with the DR 2083 that I had to have Dr. Wilson sign. Like Mulder, I want to believe

Father Joe: So you believe in these kind of things?
Fox Mulder: Let’s just say that I want to believe.

- From X-files: I want to believe

There are a number of Christians that would accuse me of being close-minded towards their god. That I have somehow “lost god” in my life and I need to have him back. But ironically enough, since I have lost the idea of the Christian god in my life, I have been getting better and better. Continue reading ‘Like Mulder, I want to believe’

Praise be to Unitar!

So, just what the hell have I been smoking and who the fuck is Unitar, you might be asking? You are going to be amazed, but first I must ask you are you ready to hear about this amazing truth? Are you sure? Well, my friend - Unitar is the god that the Unitarian Universalists worship. Don’t believe me? Then take a look at the UUA’s website? Still don’t believe me? Do a Google search for Unitar. I am certain that there are millions of sites that talk about the love and good will of Unitar. Continue reading ‘Praise be to Unitar!’

I signed the book!

Today started off in a very interesting manner. For a few Sundays now, I have been going to this church called “Faith Ministries” a/k/a “Faith Bible Chapel West” here in Denver. I have agreed to go in a hopeful effort to try to shut some of the theists that regularly annoy the shit out of me up. Anyways, the church offers a breakfast to anyone who attends so while I was eating my breakfast, the minister told me that I am a “unapologetic atheist” (of course, on this point, he is right - which is a rarity for him) and I will never ever be saved. With that, he also told me to leave the church and never come back. Since this guy was a hypocrite and a liar, I would be more than happy to leave rather than hear this asshole preach. So, I took my breakfast and headed towards the bus stop on Colfax, heading towards First Unitarian. Continue reading ‘I signed the book!’

What are Indigo Children?

There are people that believe honestly that there are children that represent a higher state of evolution, according to New Age beliefs. These children happen to have an indigo aura around them, hence the name “Indigo Children”. It has been said that this phenomena has been first discovered by Edgar Cayce, who classified people’s personalities according to the hue of their auras. Continue reading ‘What are Indigo Children?’

Something for all those Intelligent Design people

When I found the comic Cetic the other day, I found something for the people who believe in Intelligent Design. It’s a website called External Delivery and it rejects the idea of parentism, or the idea that parents are the ones who put the presents under the tree - not Santa Claus. Of course, we all know that this is false and we all know that Santa brings the presents that we see under the tree on Christmas day, not parents. So, please, check out the website that I mentioned above - External Delivery and click below to read the rest of this post. Ho ho ho. My opinion of The Eleven Satanic Rules of the Earth

I have been meaning to write a series of posts about Laveyan Satanism. This series will discuss, in equal detail, the benefits and doctrine of Laveyan Satanism. LaVeyan Satanism is a form of non-theistic satanism that was invented by Anton LaVey. I am going to discuss The Eleven Satanic Rules of the Earth in this post. Becoming a UU minister

I am considering becoming a minister with the Unitarian Universalist church. And I plan to go to Naropa University to get the degree that would allow me to become a minister at a UU church (a Master’s of Divinity is required). Now, I am a relatively sane person and I espouse no belief in a god. Why would I want to join the Unitarian Universalist church, much less become a minister in the UU church? Well, I have a number of personal reasons but the main reason that attracted me is that they do not espouse any homophobia or transphobia. In fact a number of Unitarian Universalists are understanding, awesome people that I love to congregate with. Every UU congregation I have attended has had some of the warmest, funniest people that I have ever met. Continue reading ‘Becoming a UU minister’

You are going to hell!

I get that phrase all the time. It is the short form of “You are going to hell because you do not believe as I believe”. Or “You are going to hell because you are a male-to-female transsexual and refuse to respect the perfection of god’s work/plan/etc”. Or even “You are going to hell because you had sex with another transsexual and this is an abomination in the eyes of the lord!”. There are a number of other variations that I will ultimately cover below, but I would like to tell you right now that I am not going to hell. In fact, I do not believe that there is even a hell, so telling me that I am going to someplace that I don’t even believe exists is not a way to ‘win me over’ to your side.
