I Don’t Speak for All Atheists!

I would like to make a disclaimer here and that is, well, I don’t speak for all atheists and not all atheists agree with my hard line approach to religion. Atheism is simply the disbelief in a god or goddess and it’s not just your god or goddess, it’s all gods and goddesses. That’s pretty much it, and it allows for a wide variety of opinion among atheists, even some atheists who believe in UFO abduction or some that believe in Leprechauns (technically, since Leprechauns and UFOs are not gods you can still believe in them without compromising the default status as an atheist). The only thing that binds atheists is the disbelief in any god or goddess and this is generally the only thing commonly shared by atheists. We have differing political beliefs, some are Republican and some are even Communists (oh come now, is that such a bad thing compared to what America is NOW?). We have differing beliefs in the ideas of morals or how to live our lives, even atheists in the same profession have different methods of going about doing the same task. But we are all bound by the disbelief in a faery tale god who supposedly wants to save everyone from a horrible fate that could have been prevented by him and was actually put into play by him. We act responsibly in our religious beliefs, not allowing superstition into our day-to-day lives. Continue reading ‘I Don’t Speak for All Atheists!’

Will I Ever Be Governor, or Will This Blog Ruin It?

I would like to be the next Governor of Colorado. Seriously, I really would like to help people out and the only way I could see doing that is getting into one of the highest offices in my own home state. Now, given the fact that I am an atheist Unitarian Universalist male-to-female transsexual, I could probably fit my constituency into a Toyota Prius and running Libertarian would help a few people get out of the back seat. But I could run for governor if I was really wanting to or was the legal age to. Now, does that mean I will win? Probably not, but it would be fun to try to run for governor and see what the opposition could possibly come up with to say against me. That is of course, considering that this blog won’t even ruin my chances of running for office, which it probably will. Continue reading ‘Will I Ever Be Governor, or Will This Blog Ruin It?’

“Atheism is racism” - WTF?

I was talking with some people in my building and one of the people passing by said “Praise God” and I shouted back, as I normally do, “And Praise the Flying Spaghetti Monster!” She responded saying “You atheists and your flying spaghetti monsters!” I got a little irked and responded “Well, the Flying Spaghetti Monster is not real. It was a concoction to help show how teaching creationism in the classroom is foolish.” She responded back “Well, they teach atheism in the classroom!” This kind of puzzled me because I know of NO classroom in the United States or Canada that teaches atheism. We then went on to debate and she finally made the statement that “atheism is equivalent to racism”. That kinda took me aback and it made me think, how is atheism racist and why is it that some people choose to say things like that? Continue reading ‘“Atheism is racism” - WTF?’

Blasphemy! The Musical

Nick Gisburne has really done it this time. He’s writing another book, and in my opinion, it’s about damn time! Blasphemy! The Musical, is a songbook with over 100 songs about religion and knowing Nick Gisburne, they are sure to rouse and offend the sensitive moronic little Christians in your neighbourhood. Therefore, it is highly advised that you purchase this book so that you can work on the common ministry to irritate and offend Christians (well, at least that’s MY ministry). And the best thing about this book is that, unlike the book the Atheists are Revolting, this book will contain all sorts of songs to memorize and use whenever necessary. Like on the bus, in the line at the supermarket, in church (lol) pretty much anywhere. Also, if you can trick an entire congregation into singing one of his songs as a hymn, you will go down in ex-Christian comedy history, much like the crazy Christian woman who mentioned something about a Holy Ghost enema. Praise to Nick Gisburne, The Master of YouTube!

I have always been a fan of Nick Gisburne, a YouTube atheist who has been publishing videos on his video channel for quite a while. An author, web designer/developer, Briton and of course, an atheist. He creates wonderful videos about the evils of Christianity and atheism. He wrote a book based on his YouTube videos called “The Atheists Are Revolting” which I got from the Tattered Cover (hey, they were able to order it for me at the store and I’d rather have it in my hands without having to pay shipping). And of course, he is also a focus of a lot of controversy on YouTube as he was banned on YouTube for a while but the reason was quite unsure for a time (hey, it’s like how Mike Bunker from XenuTV was banned from YouTube). But he continued to have his videos posted on YouTube by loyal fans, as you can download his videos quite easily. And eventually, he was able to get his channel on YouTube back. Praise for the Littlest Atheist!

I would like to tell you about an awesome webcomic that I found only a few short months ago. At Freethunk.net, where there is already a host of irreligious webcomics and other fun stuff to play around with, as well as factual news about the laughable marketing to these gullible sheep. But I also found another fun little treat over at Freethunk, a webcomic called ‘The Littlest Atheist‘. Not to create any spoilers or anything, but the basis of the story is that the Littlest Atheist, Bertrand, is now being forced to go to church by his mother who recently suffered the death of both her husband and Bertrand’s father. While Bertrand has been able to keep his wits about him, continue to keep his sense of humour in check and keep is ability to decipher the Christian bullshit for what it really is, his mother has fallen into the church. In the second strip, she admits that her husband was not really interested in raising him as a Christian and instead, raised him as an atheist. Fortunately, he did this so well that he was able to resist the Borg-like mentality of the Christians he goes to church with, so far. Continue reading ‘Praise for the Littlest Atheist!’

Kentucky Government, Stop Allowing the Violation of Separation of Church and State

When I was browsing the hate mail section of NormalBobSmith.com, I found a letter that was sent to Bob from a girl who lives in a Kentucky. Unfortunate, I know, but that is not the bad part about this issue. The issue is that she was convicted of a charge that had to do with drugs and it turns out that she was given a sentence which would require her to be subjected to religious nonsense or have a warrant issued for her arrest. This was clearly made compulsory and this attitude of disrespect towards another persons’ choice not to become one of the sheep and fall in line at the church. This sentence was ironically issued by the Attorney General of the county, someone that should know all too well that actions like this are not only morally reprehensible but also a violation of this person’s civil rights and liberties. How I am Working on Growing My Atheist Ministry

As a devoted atheist, anti-christ and humanist, I am working hard to make sure that people in my metro area are able to free themselves from God in their lives. And because humanity seems to be so ritualistic, I have became ordained with the First Church of Atheism a few months ago. The rationale as to why I did this is because I’d like to perform secular ceremonies such as weddings, funerals, commitment ceremonies, etc. for people who just don’t want to defame their special moment with the name of a god, any god. But oh so sadly, I am the only listed atheist minister in Colorado. Now, this might not pose a problem for people in the Denver/Boulder corridor but what about those poor godless people in places where public transit cannot reach? What about those who need these kind of ceremonies but cannot get them because of the fact that there simply is no atheist minister in their area?
