Transsexuality

Transsexual transition is a journey of many, many miles, of many many dollars (or pounds, euros, whatever) and time. It is a period of your life that is not really over with any set milestone and you cannot cure this fact with simple surgery or medication. And the goal is really basic, to live a life as who we are, which is the first step to living a life that does not involve suicide. Seriously, that is why we pay a queen’s ransom for all the services that a transwoman needs to live as a woman in society.

In this section of my website, I intend to dispel a few myths for the general populace about transsexuality and speak frankly to a number of populations. I also intend to give more details about my own transition and speak freely on many elements of the transition. Furthermore, I plan to touch on a topic that many trans sites neglect and that is a commentary about the transsexual community itself and finally, I intend to give a bit of insight into my own personal philosophy regarding transsexuality and many points about it. As with my diary and other areas of this site, I intend to take a no nonsense approach on my writing and be brutally honest about facts regarding the transsexual community, as well as to fearlessly present my own opinion. Because even though I am a transsexual woman, I am still allowed to have an opinion, right? Right? No? Well, I am still going to present my views anyway since I pay $210 per year to keep this website up and running. ;-P

Transsexual 101

  • The Unique Issues that Transsexuals Face on Hubpages – This is a hub I wrote on HubPages for people who do not understand transsexuals and the struggles that we face in trying to find ourselves.
  • How to Respect a Transsexual Person – Personally, I believe that this a very important thing for all potential allies of transsexual people to read and it gives you the basics on how to respect a transsexual person.

My own transition

  • Hormone Replacement Therapy – What can I say, but the fact that starting hormone replacement therapy is a trip that I will never forget, nor want to. ^_^
  • Going Full-time – On 29 May 2008, I shed my male clothes for the last time and donned my new skirts and blouses and started to enjoy my first tastes of freedom from living as what society would see as a male.
  • Electrolysis and Other Hair Removal – Because there is nothing to prove that you are dedicated to your transition more than devoting an hour or more of your time per week to zapping hair follicles on your face with an electric needle. Other than paying a queen’s ransom for the privilege. ^_^;; In this article, I also speak about laser clinics and the shifty practices of American Laser Centres.
  • Sex Reassignment Surgery – Yay for vaginal origami! I had my sex reassignment surgery on 2 July 2009 with Dr. Pichet Rodchareon of Bangkok, Thailand and I give my honest assessment here. You can read the details about my flight there on my post My Flight Experience with Northwest Airlines/Delta – July 2009.
  • Voice Therapy (new) – Here, I will document my quest for the perfect voice. I will also try to post a few samples online as well.
  • Romance as a Transsexual Woman – These are my true and honest experiences with romance and love as a transsexual woman both pre-op and post-op. I translate these experiences as sage advice for the wise transsexual woman who should be aware of the many pitfalls and disappointments in the dating world beforehand.
  • The Light at the End of the Tunnel – Why does someone transition? What does someone hope to get out of transition? Here, I explain my goals, gains and losses as I talk about being in the autumn season of my transition.

On Transitioning

    The Community

In this section of my website, I intend to make comments on the trans community and talk about some of my concerns about the community.

    • The Standards of Care – In this article, I talk about the draconian Standards of Care which is published by the evil organization known as WPATH and how to get around them. I also talk about the curiously high level of support within the trans community for the Standards of Care.
    • Why I attend support groups in Houston – Here, I write about the problems and some concerns with the transsexual community here in Denver.
    • Transsexuals and Transvestites – Why I see the constant issues between two groups as frivolous and why we need to stop attacking them.

    Transitioning Young

Ah, the joy of transitioning young…

    • Transitioning Younger v. Older -
    • College T-girls – Are you a transsexual woman in college or planning to go to college? Here is a guide I have written to help any budding t-girl transition and have a happy life.
    • Family Matters – Are your parents threatening to kick you out if you go full time? Do you feel so oppressed by your family that transition would be quite impossible? If so, I would recommend reading this article which outlines some of the things that parents do to their children when they attempt to transition. In this, I outline how to prepare for the worst.
    • Thinking About Joining the Military? I beg you to think again – I was just about to join the National Guard in Indiana in order to get the money I needed for sex reassignment surgery but I had second thoughts and misgivings. I tell you why you do not want to join the military and why I feel much better that I had not.
