I started hormones in late 2007 and it was not a moment too soon. Fortunately, thanks to some very good friends and some referrals, I have been able to get hormones without having to ever see a therapist. I have some very antagonistic views against the Harry Benjamin Standards of Care and you can find them written out elsewhere on this site. I have also written a page on Hubpages about getting hormone replacement therapy without the Standards of Care.
Why you never want to self-medicate
Self-medication is very bad for you and it can lead to some serious damage to your body. You should always work to see a physician for your hormones, simply because of the bloodwork and other tests that need to be done to make sure that you are taking the right amounts of hormones and androgen blockers, as well as to prevent any ailments that may come your way if you are not careful.
